When editing feature classes with subtypes and with unique renderings on a layer, the templates use the default values of the feature class.

Additional Information

The user will either symbolize with the subtype or the reps. The templates are only based on the field that is used to symbolize the features.

Workaround

1) Add the feature class to ArcMap. 2) Subtype is defined. 3) Representation is defined. 4) Start editing. 5) The feature templates based on the number of representation rule_Id's are created. 6) In the Create Features dialog box, edit the feature template and then save the MXD.
