When creating topology from ArcGIS Pro 2.2.0 and higher, the Catalog windows using comma as a separator in the German locale returns the error message, "Error 999999: Something unexpected caused the tool to fail."

Workaround

  • When the region is India or USA (any region other than Germany), the error does not occur in ArcGIS Pro 2.2.0, ArcGIS Pro 2.3 or ArcGIS Pro 2.4 alpha.
  • Create the topology with the GP tool to keep the decimal separator as a comma.
