Using the 3D Analyst Tool > Conversion > To KML > Map to KML, as long as you do not check the Data Content Property to Return single composite image, you will have control over the individual layers when viewed in Google Earth but not in ArcGIs Explorer. I will include "ThroughTool.KMZ" which was created using the tool mentioned above.Steps to Reproduce
