When creating a custom grid using a source layer as labels, the selected edges do not honor the settings as expected.

Additional Information
The overlays on the grid and the grid edges in the box allow selecting an edge. To turn it off, uncheck the Visible checkbox below the grid numbers.Workaround
Convert the custom grid to graphics and manually remove the labels from the edges as needed.
