Bug
When creating a bar chart in ArcGIS Pro 2.2, there is no immediate option to change the bar chart symbology in the Chart Properties window.

Workaround
This issue happens if using the same Category or Date Variable in the Chart Properties pane. If using a variable that is not the same as the fields being symbolized, the chart displays correctly. Example, in the attached data, the Population Counts can be symbolized with bars correctly when Name field is used as the variable. However, to use the Name field exclusively, use the Layer symbology pane to change bar color.Steps to Reproduce
