When copying features from an ArcSDE geodatabase to a file geodatabase using Copy/Paste in ArcCatalog TOC, the representations are not maintained.

Workaround

Use the Export Data option or the Copy Features geoprocessing tool to copy the features in the feature class to a file geodatabase. Another option is to Export/Import via XML Workspace Document. NOTE: In the event that GlobalID's are included, the Export Data and Copy Features geoprocessing tools will not preserve the Global IDs. Exporting/Importing via XML Workspace Document will preserve the Global IDs.
