When calculating the area in acres, the value returned by the field calculator is different from the geometry calculator when the coordinate system of the data has a unit of feet.

Additional Information

Tested on 10.2.1 on 100 hectares, calcField vs calcGeom was less than 0.0001 off

Workaround

Project the data into a coordinate system with a unit of meters.
