When ArcMap is already open on a machine and Remote Desktop is used to access that machine, if ArcCatalog is launched in the remote session, an error displays “All licenses are in use” even though the same logon account is being used in the remote session as the local session if only one license is available.

Additional Information

Not able to reproduce the problem. Able to open a new application even with 1 license while logged in remotely.

Workaround

1. Close ArcMap after starting the remote session.2. ArcCatalog now opens and does not consume another license.
