When adding nonspatial tables in ArcMap without ObjectID fields, using the Add Data button produces inconsistent results. This problem does not occur when dragging and dropping from ArcCatalog.

Workaround

Drag and drop the database view from the ArcCatalog window into the Table of Contents (ToC).
