Bug

When adding a text file to ArcMap that has degrees-minutes-seconds (DMS) Latitude and/or Longitude, ArcMap adds the LAT_D and/or LONG_D fields; if there are no values for DMS LAT and/or LONG, values in the table are unavoidably shifted.

Workaround

1. Manually change the schema file after the text file has been added to the map so that the LAT_D/LONG_D fields do not show and all fields are added in as text fields.Or2. Import the text file to an Excel spreadsheet, set all fields so that they are formatted as general/text, and add this spreadsheet to the map.
