When adding a new text field with length more than 4000 characters to an existing feature class, the length property experiences several changes until the length property becomes 1073741822.

Additional Information
ArcGIS Desktop (including ArcGIS Engine and ArcObjects) is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026. Mature support means the end of functionality-based patches and hotfixes; therefore, this issue will not be addressed. There are no plans for future releases of ArcGIS Desktop, and it is recommended to migrate to ArcGIS Pro.
