When adding a new field of data type which doubles to a table in an Enterprise geodatabase, the default precision is set to seven instead of the minimum precision required by the database.

Additional Information

The defaults for precision and scale are clearly documented, and easily modifiable when the field is created. Defaults are rarely correct for all data and it is required to choose the correct type for storing data.

Workaround

Manually set the necessary precision during field creation.
