Bug
When a Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS app hosted in ArcGIS Online is shared to a group in another organization but not shared publicly, the custom thumbnail images appear as broken links when viewing the application as a member of the destination ArcGIS Online organization.

Workaround
Share the Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS app publicly but do not share the layers or web map publicly. The link still prompts for a sign-in to view the app, but the thumbnail image no longer displays a broken image link.Steps to Reproduce
