When a map with a transparency value set for an imagery basemap is exported, gridlines are displayed in the image at resolutions above 200 DPI for PDF.

Additional Information

These gridlines are the result of a default display setting in Adobe products called Enhance Thin Lines. Turn off the Enhance Thin Lines option in Page Display to mitigate the artifacts.

Workaround

  • In Adobe products, turn off the Enhance Thin Lines option in Page Display.
  • Export the map at a resolution of 200 DPI or lower.
