When a feature layer has custom pop-up configurations, the screening widget report features will be grayed out in ArcGIS Web AppBuilder.

Workaround
Add the feature layer to a web map via the REST endpoint URL rather than searching for the item in ArcGIS Online as this will remove the custom pop-up expressions.
