Bug

When a database connection file (.sde) is used as the input for the Select Data tool in ModelBuilder, publishing the result as a geoprocessing service causes the service to strip the feature class of the user name and schema, and the service fails and return the error message, "ERROR 000800: The value is not a member of <Geodatabase.DataOwner.FeatureClass>."

Workaround

Option 1:

  1. In ArcCatalog, navigate to arcgisserver/directories/arcgissystem/arcgisinput/<GP Service Name>/extracted/v101/<original folder name>/<toolbox name>/<model name>, and right-click to edit.
  2. Edit each input parameter and tool to use the correct connection file, geodatabases, and/or feature classes.
  3. Save the model.
  4. Restart the geoprocessing service.

Option 2:

Run the tool outside of the ModelBuilder, and publish the result as a geoprocessing service.

Option 3:

For the Select Data tool input, use a feature class within the geodatabase, and publish the geoprocessing result as a geoprocessing service.
