Defect BUG-000177808 is resolved in the upcoming 12.0 release and has been patched for version 11.5 with the Portal for ArcGIS 11.5 Web Applications Patch. Esri recommends all customers using Portal for ArcGIS 11.5 apply this patch. The patch is available through the ArcGIS Enterprise Patch Notification Tool and from the download page. Important note: After the Portal for ArcGIS 11.5 Web Applications Patch is installed on the portal machine, the web browser cache must be cleared on all machines where the problem of loading an application occurred. Typically, when a browser experiences an error, once new files are available, the browser utilizes the new files and overcomes the failure. BUG-000177808 causes an unusual and difficult condition where the web application received 0-byte files, which resulted in a failure in the web application loading process. These erroneous 0-byte files were cached within the browser, and while the patch includes logic to force the recognition of new, corrected files, browser caching may still be in effect, and thus the application does not utilize the newly corrected file. The browser cache must be cleared explicitly after the patch has been applied. Clearing of browser cache is required on all machines consuming or connecting to the web applications impacted by this defect.
