Additional Information

When using SQL access, it's a two-step workflow to retrieve data from a versioned view: 1. Run the set_current_version function first 2. Then select data from the versioned view When using ArcMap, a view must be created based on a workspace, which is connected to one particular version from a feature class, but not from a versioned view. Versioned view should be used from the underlying database directly by using SQL to read and edit the versioned data.

Workaround

1. Add the versioned feature class to ArcMap 2. Switch the version to a named child version 3. Use the Make Feature Layer tool to create a layer with desired fields based on the current feature class within the ArcMap session 4. Remove the feature class, keep the feature layer in ArcMapUsing this workflow will see the feature class with limited fields in a particular version.
