Additional Information

The solution is designed to analyze incident data from about 2 years. Additionally, incident datasets are large, so to ensure optimal performance, the FireIncidents_dashboard view layer is designed to only display records where the Call Date field is within the last 23 months. This filter can be viewed or updated by going to the item page for FireIncidents_dashboard, selecting the Visualization tab, and then, with the layer highlighted, opening the Filter tool. This is where the filter is configured to Call Date in the last 23 months. If the data loaded into the FireIncidents layer is missing this Call Date information, then the FireIncidents_dashboard view will appear empty. Similarly, if there is data older than 23 months in the FireIncidents layer, it will not appear in the FireIncidents_dashboard view.

Workaround

  • Manually created view layers from the same feature service behave as expected and display data correctly.
  • Manually replacing the view layer in the solution’s web map or dashboard resolves the issue but requires reconfiguring the dashboards to read from the newly created view layer, which does not meet client requirements.
