Workaround

  • Delete the metadata in ArcGIS Pro before publishing to ArcGIS Online, and re-add the metadata in ArcGIS Online after a hosted feature layer has been created.
  • Add the data as a file geodatabase directly to ArcGIS Online:
    • In ArcGIS Online > Content > New item.
  • Delete the indent in the Metadata editor pane of the Description section in ArcGIS Pro, then re-add the metadata with the indent in ArcGIS Online after the hosted feature layer has been created.
