Additional Information

This is a known limitation. The variable in the model used as input to the tool in question must be a model parameter in order for the parameter with a dependency to get the field list from the selected dataset in the model tool dialog. Users can also use the original input table not the derived output as the input to the Calculate Field or Delete Field tools, with preconditions to ensure other processes happen before the calculate or delete. In ArcMap, the expression or delete fields parameter kept the fields list, it was not actively connected to the model tool input parameter, rather a snapshot collection of the fields from when the model was authored. Changing the input parameter does not update the field lists in the model tool dialog.
