Bug
Using the ArcPy functions to modify domains in ArcGIS Pro produces error message "Error 160284: Cannot acquire a schema lock because of an existing lock." when the domain is attached to a feature class with a different schema than the domains owner.

Workaround
Using the Geoprocessing tools and running them manually successfully modifies a domain attached to a feature class with a different schema.
