Description

The default field value for numeric fields do not properly display when creating a report. Numeric values that are less than 12 characters can take two rows to display, when only one row is required to display the value.

Cause

This is a known limit at ArcGIS 10.

Workaround

Fields are rendered in a report based on their field properties. Click on numeric formatting from the Fields tab on the Layer Properties dialog box or from the Properties dialog box launched from the field context menu in the attribute table.

Option #1 - Change the number of characters (used for padding) to a number that is equal in size to the maximum length of the values in the numeric field.

Option #2 - Change the alignment to left-justified.
