Using a custom add-in tool, The OnStartEditing event handler is used to modify the corresponding feature templates’ default value to match the ‘Definition Query’ of each layer. The feature templates for layers with ‘Definition Query’ are not listed on the ‘Create Features’ window for the first time when user starts editing. This only happens when the MXD file is opened by double-clicking the MXD file; it does not happen if the MXD file is loaded from ArcMap.
