If instead of performing a Union, the AptRings polygons are combined using the Buffer tool with a small buffer size (1m) and a dissolve type of ALL, the resulting large polygon can be projected to these polor projections and drawn successfully (at least, in the two projections I tried).Steps to Reproduce
