Uninstalling Business Analyst does not uninstall all registry keys successfully. Specifically, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ESRI\BusinessAnalyst\Datasets, these locations persist after uninstalling and this causes data source conflicts with new installations of BA or different versions.

Workaround

1. Uninstall all instances of BA prior to installing > Clean the registry > Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ESRI\BusinessAnalyst HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ESRI\BusinessAnalyst\Reinstall BA. Now the locations in the data element should have blank paths when installing with no data.
