Workaround
The Sentinel Protection Installer installs both the Sentinel Hardware Key driver and Sentinel Protection Server. The Server provides the gateway to access the host machine. To prevent this, turn off the Sentinel Protection Service from the Services Menu. This does not affect the functioning of the hardware key.
Workaround 1: Disabling the Sentinel service
1. Right-click My Computer > Manage > Services and Applications > Services.
2. Right-click Sentinel Protection Server > Properties.
3. Change the Startup type to Disabled.
4. Stop the Service.
Workaround 2: Uninstalling the Sentinel Server (this will involve restarting your machine)
1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add\Remove Programs.
2. Click 'Sentinel Protection Installer v7.2.2.'
3. Click 'Change' to launch the installer.
4. Click the 'Next' button on the welcome screen > Select Modify.
5. Select the Sentinel Protection Server dropdown and select 'This feature will not be available'.
6. Click Next, followed by Install.
7. Restart your computer when prompted.
