This problem is essentially a duplicate of NIM069234.Workaround
Upgrade the items' metadata for ArcGIS 10, following the step-by-step instructions in the Help topic Creating and managing FGDC metadata: <a href="http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Creating_and_managing_FGDC_metadata/003t00000031000000/" target="_blank">http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Creating_and_managing_FGDC_metadata/003t00000031000000/</a>. You can upgrade metadata for all items at once by runing the Upgrade metadata tool in batch mode. Locate the tool in the Conversion toolbox, right-click it, then click Batch.Steps to Reproduce
