Workaround

There are two workarounds for this issue:

A. In new surveys

  1. Design your survey (except for media folder) and publish
  2. Update and shave the sharing settings for the survey in Survey123 website
  3. Copy content to media folder
  4. Republish the survey from Connect

B. With existing surveys

B.1. Update existing survey

  1. Move the content of the media folder to a different location
  2. Republish the survey
  3. Update and shave the sharing settings for the survey in Survey123 website
  4. Move content back to media folder
  5. Republish the survey
  6. Notice that it maintains the sharing settings after republishing

B.2. Create a new survey

  1. Create a copy of your survey in Connect (Save as from Connect)
  2. Move the content of the media folder to a different location
    1. In order to keep existing submissions from the original survey you can use submission URL to point the new submissions to the original hosted feature layer
    2. Alternatively, you can export existing submissions from the original hosted feature layer as FGDB and use it to append existing data to the hosted feature layer for the new survey
  3. Publish the survey
  4. Update and shave the sharing settings for the survey in Survey123 website
  5. Copy content to media folder
  6. Republish the survey from Connect
