Workaround

  1. Open the data in Microsoft Excel. Click ArcGIS on the ribbon and click Show Map in the Map group. Then, log in to ArcGIS Online with a View or Creator account.
  2. Click the A1 cell. On the Excel ribbon, click the Insert tab and click Table in the Tables group. Click OK in the Create Table confirmation window.
  3. In the ArcGIS for Excel pane, click +Excel.
  4. For Data, select Table1 if necessary.
  5. For Location types, select Geography.
  6. Click the Boundaries drop-down arrow and select ArcGIS Online.
  7. In the Search ArcGIS Online search bar, type ABS 2016 and select the add icon for ABS2016 LGA - Simplified.
  8. Click the ABS2016 LGA - Simplified drop-down arrow and select LGA_NAME16.
  9. Click the Sheet1!A:B80 drop-down arrow and select LGA.
  10. Click Add to map.
