Description
When trying to create a manage or local use connection to a Linux or Unix ArcGIS Server from an ArcGIS Desktop client on Windows Vista or Windows 7, an "Access Denied" error is displayed.
Cause
Limitations in DCOM communications in Windows Vista and Windows 7 prevent management of ArcGIS Server on Unix or Linux by way of ArcGIS Desktop clients.
Workaround
Use one of the two solutions below to work around this limitation:
Log directly into the Web-based ArcGIS Server Manager application.
Create the manage or local use connection from a desktop client machine running Windows XP.
