Unable to download an offline map area on a mobile device using a hosted feature layer with no records added as a shapefile item in ArcGIS Online. The error message "Feature table must have a spatial reference to store features with geometry" is returned.

Workaround

  • Add a record to the empty layer to download the offline area to the mobile device.
  • Change the workflow, and instead of adding the shapefile as an item in ArcGIS Online, share the layer directly from ArcGIS Pro to ArcGIS Online.
