This issue will not be addressed in the current release cycle. If this is still a concern, contact Esri Support Services.Workaround
- Do not label using a custom expression, or turn off labels entirely.
- If labels with a custom expression are a necessity, they can be switched on and off when lists need to be created or updated, or fields need to be deleted.
