Unable to add layers to configure find locations and features for the existing features in a web scene when there is a hosted scene layer in the web scene.

Workaround

Add the hosted scene layer to the web scene using a service URL.

1. In ArcGIS Online, navigate to Content > My content and click the hosted feature layer.
2. On the Overview page, click Open in Scene Viewer.
3. On the Designer toolbar, click Add layers > ArcGIS web service.
4. In the Enter layer URL pane, under Layer URL, paste the service URL and click Add.
5. On the Designer toolbar, click Save.
6. In the Save scene window, fill in all the required fields and click Save.
7. In ArcGIS Online, on the My Content page, navigate to and click the saved web scene. The item details page opens.
8. Click the Settings tab and click Web Scene. Under Application Settings, check the Enable Search and By Layer check boxes.
9. Click Add Layer > Save.
