Additional Information
The SSL certificate on this server is not trusted. The user cannot connect because the intermediate/chain certificate is not in the sharing API's JRE store. Some browsers have this custom certificate, so they are able to connect without issues. The server must update the SSL certificate.
Workaround
User is prompted for credentials when adding the secure service in Map Viewer and Map Viewer Classic.
Steps to demonstrate:
- In ArcGIS Online, navigate to Map to open Map Viewer (you can also use Map Viewer Classic, but the steps will be slightly different)
- Click the + Add button in the upper-left section of the window
- Select Web service from the list that expands
- Copy/paste the secure ArcGIS Server service's URL into the URL parameter (https://appdev.gisdata.mn.gov/arcgis/rest/services/MDA_Palmer_Amaranth/DEV_Palmer_Location_Centroids/MapServer)
- Press tab and observe that you're prompted for credentials in the Sign In popup
