Additional Information

The ArcGIS Field Maps documentation states that the Cellular Data option in the ArcGIS Field Maps setting refers to the use of cellular data to download, sync, and update offline maps and offline map areas. This setting does not disable the use of cellular data for creating or updating records on an online map or other uses of cellular data in ArcGIS Field Maps. In order to block the use of cellular data in the ArcGIS Field Maps app entirely, disable the use of cellular data through the mobile device's settings. Refer to the following ArcGIS Field Maps documentation: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/field-maps/android/use-maps/download-maps.htm#:~:text=for%20download.-,Tip,-%3A

Workaround

In IOS:

  • Go to mobile settings.
  • Open the Cellular Data option.
  • Scroll down to Cellular Data Apps. The list of all the mobile apps appears.
  • Turn off the cellular data for the ArcGIS Field Maps app.

In Android:

  • Go to mobile settings.
  • Open Connection > Data Usage > Allowed Networks for Apps.
  • Set the ArcGIS Field Maps app to use Wi-Fi only.
