There is a difference between the way areas and lengths are calculated when using the 'Compute areas and lengths' function in a geometry service (using Planar calculations) in ArcGIS 10.0/10.1 versus ArcGIS 10.2 and 10.2.1/10.2.2 for Spatial References in Geographic Coordinate Systems (GCS).

Workaround
