There are ArcMap drawing errors when panning/zooming a map layer created from a table in an ArcSDE geodatabase not registered with the geodatabase.

Workaround

A) Register the table with the geodatabase. ORB) Add the table to ArcMap through an OLE DB connection, not a spatial database connection.
