Additional Information
It is recommended both from Microsoft and the ArcGIS for Power BI teams to update Power BI Desktop every month, or every two months. This is because there are underlying changes that occur both to the Power BI ecosystem as well as the ArcGIS for Power BI component.
Some of these changes require either rebuilding a report or certain components of the report. If the updates are not done at a regular interval (less than 2 months), data and workflows break on the report page.
Furthermore, the latest ArcGIS for Power BI component does not download or update accordingly as the Power BI ecosystem is out of date.
Workaround
Re-save the missing layers (data) within Power BI Desktop to make the missing layers available in the published map visual:
- Open the published map visual within Power BI Desktop.
- Remove the layers that are not displayed in the published map visual.
- Re-add the layers and click Save.
- Open the published map visual, and observe all the layers displayed.
