Additional Information
The difference in catalog behavior is caused by the base URL given as the WCS service. Instead of adding a WCS service with a URL in the form:
https://server.domain.org/someName/someDirectory/wcs?request=GetCapabilities&service=WCS
Use the form https://server.domain.org/someName/someDirectory/wcs?, as indicated by the example in the 'Add WCS Server Connection' dialogue.
The display behavior reported when the raster layer is added is as expected. The real statistics of the coverage is unknown and have to use whatever is provided by the coverage. In this case the statistics provided did not give a good display. If a good contrast within the raster is needed, use "DRA (dynamic range adjustment)" for display.
Workaround
The suggested workarounds are:
- Apply minimum-maximum stretch on the WCS layer in ArcGIS Pro 2.5 and ArcMap 10.7 and ArcMap 10.7.1 to make the raster visible.
- Export the raster.
