The Union tool, when called through ArcPy, is not recognize a Python list of feature classes or layers as valid input and throws ERROR 000732 with specific data.

Additional Information

The issue was caused by corrupt data. Running the repair geometry tool resolved the issue.

Workaround

None if through ArcPy is required. The GP tool interface functions as expected.
