The Trace tool with the option to 'trace selected features' for circular arcs creates true curves in certain scenarios but not in some scenarios where many vertices are created.

This issue is a problem with the graph that trace uses, moving forward this graph is not used in ArcGIS Pro so you will find this is not repro in ArcGIS Pro.
