The time taken to import raster datasets into mosaics on a Linux machine using a Python script with arcpy.AddRastersToMosaicDataset_management is excessively long.

Workaround

On a Windows machine, the script can be executed in a considerably shorter amount of time than on the Linux machines. Putting the rasters into subdirectories does reduce the amount of time taken. However, in cases where users are using thousands of files, this is not a feasible solution.
