Additional Information

The current Preferences > Add Data > Import File settings does not include an option for changing the imported geographies color fill and border. The Import File setting for Fill, Border and Thickness are for importing Shape Files not importing points. The ability to import point files as 'Geographic boundaries' is added as a new feature in ArcGIS Business Analyst web app 7.2 and the ability to set a preference color and fill was not added in Preferences. The option is to be added in the future product release enhancement.

Workaround

Currently, the import points as geographic boundaries color and border options are set in Preferences > Maps > Define Areas > Select Geography. The Fill, Border, and Thickness selected are used as the default options in Import Points as Geographic Boundaries which is not a good option, and the new settings are to be added in the Add Data section. However, the settings in Define Areas can be used as a workaround until the new preference options are added for the import file.
