The Select by Attributes tool, using the Select from Current Selection, from the Selection Menu produces a different result then the Select by Attributes Tool from the Attribute table when using a date field.

Workaround

1. Use the attribute table's Select by Attributes tool to do the selection.2. Combine the two queries into one.Instead of doing a selection and then selecting from the current selection, perform the query in one selection using the AND operator.3. Switch the selection, and use the date query as to select from the current selection.
