Fixed with new registration workflow (ArcCatalog) in 10.1Workaround
Specifying more appropriate metadata extents (-180,180, 0.005 and -90,90, 0.005 successfully register)Specifying the offsets and the scale at registration is always preferable to allowing SDE to determine what appropriate values are (-x -180,-90,1000000). SDE will “guess” at these values, but the user should know their data better then SDE could.Steps to Reproduce
