The renamed People layer fails to display in the ArcGIS Indoors field app.

Workaround

In ArcGIS Pro 2.6 and the ArcGIS Indoors 1.4 mobile apps, perform the following workaround to resolve:

1.    Open project (and map) in ArcGIS Pro 2.6.

2.    Rename ‘People’ to ‘Collaborateurs’.

3.    Go to the View tab and click Indoors > Configure Indoors Categories.

4.    Create a Category named Collaborateurs from the layer.

5.    Finish the remaining steps in the wizard.

6.    Go to Share and click Mobile Map to create an MMPK file.

7.    Open the map in the ArcGIS Indoors 1.4 mobile app and click Explore.

Important note: This is a workaround to display People related data in Explore with a different name and not a solution.
