Workaround
Use one of the following workarounds:
- If the user does not require multiple PDF files, the progress bar works as expected when Files is set to 'Single PDF File' (Export Layout > Map Series > Files).
- If the user requires multiple PDF files (and therefore needs to use Multiple PDF Files (Page name as suffix) or Multiple PDF Files (Page number as suffix)), but wants to monitor the progress of exporting, use the page range option (Export Layout > Map Series > Pages) to export one page at a time within the map series, or use the page range option to export multiple pages at a time. The 'Export Complete' message still appears after the first page of the map series has exported, but the tool stops running after specified pages are exported. It is not necessary to terminate the program to cancel the export.
- Use ArcGIS Pro 2.5.
