Additional Information

This is by design. The slider is moved to the lowest compatibility level that fits all the privileges in the role the user is editing. When editing a custom role, the slider is intentionally set to reflect the current compatibility level of the privileges within the role the user has opened to edit. This is to prevent users from assigning privileges that unintentionally raise the role to a higher compatibility level, so the user can make a conscious decision to raise it to enable a selection of privileges that require higher compatibility levels.

Workaround

Set the Privilege compatibility slider to View, edit, create and manage, enable the required higher-level privileges, and click Save.
