The Portal for ArcGIS Log4j Patch causes the Portal for ArcGIS 10.8.1 to Portal for ArcGIS 10.9.1 upgrade on Linux to fail and returns the error message, "Message: The requested resource [/arcgis/home/] is not available."

Additional Information

This issue is resolved with the Portal log4j 10.8.1 Patch version B: https://support.esri.com/en/download/7969.

Workaround

  1. Uninstall the Log4j Patch with ./removepatch.sh before upgrading to Portal for ArcGIS 10.9.1.
  2. Run the upgrade ./Setup for the Portal for ArcGIS 10.9.1 installer.
  3. Finish the upgrade through the 7443/arcgis/home/createadmin window in a browser.
  4. Check the /home/arcgis/arcgis/portal/framework/webapps directory for arcgis#home. This is present after the Portal for ArcGIS 10.9.1 upgrade installation.
